I’m a freelance artist from Toronto, Canada and I grew a love for PC gaming during my later teenage years. During that time, I fell in love with League of legends and found Splash art to be one of the most mystical and amazing things! I decided to dedicate a lot of my time after Highschool to learn how to draw and paint.
These days I’m finding a lot of joy in all aspects of indie games! Everything from rogue-likes, cozy games, digital card games, and RPGs. Games that feature beautiful illustrative artwork and painterly environments inspire me a lot.
The biggest problems I’ve had to face were lack of trust in the process and dealing with frustration! I’m sure everyone has gone through the phase of their artwork where you draw 2 lines and you feel the urge to throw it away or start over.
This is a problem I face even today, but knowing that you have all the time in the world to make more art and understanding that perfection does not exist makes the process of painting a lot more enjoyable.
I’ve had 2 of my friends previously take Augusto’s mentorship who highly recommended his teaching style. I felt like I really wanted some direction to make the art I wanted, and that the mentorship would be the nudge I needed.

Prestige Brave Pheonix Xayah and DragonMancer Rakan Fan Art
You stumble into Xayah and Rakan who are dancing under the moonlight tori bridge after being blessed by their respective gods. You attempt to attack them with your arrow as Rakan notices you and deflect your attack. Xayah grips her feather-daggers and contemplates attacking you.
Augusto went over some basic fundamental topics and spoke about the goals of splash art, how to integrate personality and soft narrative in the artwork.
During the splash art phase, we would talk about the intent of our art, what our struggles were and how to solve the problems we were facing.
I felt that trusting Augusto’s instructions allowed me to take risks I otherwise would be too scared to take and allowed me to learn a lot faster.
It was very enjoyable! Augusto was amazing every step of the way, and It’s very nice to have someone remind you of the fundamentals as well as teach you how to push your art towards a splash level quality.
I truly feel like Augusto taught me how to walk on my own. It was also very fun to see other people’s work and how they have progressed week to week.

One of the greatest advantages online platforms have over traditional schooling is the ability to choose who your instructor is.
It’s important to ask yourself what you want to learn and why a certain artist appeals to you. CGVerse has a wide variety of professional artists who appeal to different audiences! Take your time to choose who appeals to you, and most importantly have fun!
I plan to diversify my portfolio and start applying to studios. In the meantime I’ll be working on personal projects and commissions.
I’m very happy that I gained the skills to make the art I love. Thank you for this opportunity!
