Frequently Asked Questions

The primary requirements are a modern web browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) and a stable internet connection. Because these are browser-based utilities, they are not dependent on your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) or the power of your computer. We don’t recommend using them on mobile due to screensize.

Browser-based utilities are powerful tools that run directly in your web browser, eliminating the need for downloads or installations. This allows you to access a curated collection of powerful applications designed to accelerate your creative workflow from any device with an internet connection.

This means you can start working immediately on any computer without going through a setup process. The key benefits for your workflow include:

  • Instant Access: No waiting for downloads of executables or installations.
  • Portability: Your tools are available wherever you have a browser.
  • Always Updated: You are always using the latest version withoutmanual updates.

You will find powerful, browser-based tools for 3D or 2D Artists, Each utility is aimed to assist you in your workflow.

The Sky Gen Tool is a free, browser-based utility that generates physically-accurate, 360° skies with volumetric clouds. It’s designed for artists to create realistic or stylized equirectangular sky maps for lighting 3D scenes, or for use as skyboxes in games and virtual production.

How to use it:

  1. Interact with the Live Preview: The tool opens with a real-time, navigable 3D preview of the sky. What you see is what you get.
  2. Control the Atmosphere and Sun: Use the “Atmosphere” sliders to set the sun’s position (Sun Azimuth, Sun Elevation), brightness (Sun Radiance), and apparent size (Sun Size). These settings realistically affect the color and light of the entire sky.
  3. Sculpt Volumetric Clouds: In the “Volumetric Clouds” section, you have detailed control over the cloudscape. Adjust Coverage to create anything from a clear day to a stormy overcast sky. Modify Density, Phase, and various Shape and Detail sliders to art-direct the clouds’ appearance.
  4. Set the Ground: Use the color picker in the “Ground” section to change the color of the horizon line.
  5. Configure Your Export: In the “Render & Export” section, choose your desired output Render Resolution (up to 4K). For high-end workflows requiring high dynamic range lighting (HDRi), check the “Export as EXR” box.
  6. Download Your Sky: Click “Download Equirectangular”. The tool will render the full 360° image, showing you a progress bar. Once complete, it will be downloaded to your computer as a PNG or EXR file, ready to be used in any 3D software.

The PBR Material Generator is a free browser tool for 3D artists that creates a full set of Physically-Based Rendering (PBR) textures from a single image. Turn a photo of a surface into a game-ready material in seconds.

How to use it:

  1. Load Your Image: Drag and drop a photograph of a texture (like wood, bricks, or fabric) into the window, or paste it from your clipboard. This image will serve as your base Albedo (color) map.
  2. Live Preview: The tool instantly generates Height, Normal, and Roughness maps and shows you a live 3D preview of the material. You can switch the preview mesh between a Sphere, Cube, or Plane.
  3. Tune the Height Map: This is the key to creating believable depth. The tool generates height from coarse, medium, and fine details. Use the sliders in the “Height Map” section to blend these layers and capture the surface’s character. You can also invert the map or adjust its global brightness and contrast.
  4. Refine Other Maps: Adjust the “Normal Strength” to control the intensity of surface details. Use the “Roughness Adjustments” to define how shiny or matte your material is based on the light and dark areas of your original image.
  5. Create Seamless Textures: If your source photo isn’t tileable, check the “Make Tileable” box and adjust the blend size to create a perfectly seamless material.
  6. Export Your Material: Select your desired texture resolution (up to 8K) and click “Download Textures”. You’ll get a .zip file with the Albedo, Height, Normal, and Roughness maps, ready for any 3D software like Blender, Unity, or Unreal Engine.

Note by Christopher Schiefer (Developer & Artist): Camera controls are disabled so that you don’t miss your deadlines by wasting time zooming, panning, and rotating in 3D. We’ve all been there.

Our Perspective Grid Generator is a free online tool designed to help digital painters, concept artists, and illustrators create accurate perspective grids for their artwork. It’s a powerful drawing aid for establishing 1-point, 2-point, or 3-point perspective without complex software.

How to use it:

  1. Load Your Image: Start by dragging and dropping your artwork, photo, or 3D render into the application window. You can also paste an image directly from your clipboard.
  2. Create a Vanishing Point: Click the “Add Vanishing Point” button. Then, find two lines in your image that should converge (like the edges of a building or a road) and click four times to define them (two clicks per line). The tool automatically calculates their intersection and places the vanishing point.
  3. Adjust and Refine: Once a point is created, you can click to select it. Use the controls to adjust the number of lines (Line Density), their thickness, and color. You can also drag the vanishing point and its defining handles directly on the canvas to fine-tune the grid.
  4. Multi-Point Perspective: Repeat the process to add more vanishing points for two-point or three-point perspective scenes.
  5. Download Your Grid: When you’re happy with the result, click “Download Lines” to save a high-quality PNG file of your image with the perspective overlay. You can also choose to download just the lines on a transparent background.
